Natalie is a woman of spirit and light whose essence encompasses the wild, strange, and vivacious world surrounding her. She enjoys the forests, wetlands, water, and skies of the Pacific Northwest as much as she treasures journeys around the country and overseas. Her artwork is an extension of her self, and it embodies both her spirit and her experience.
Always involved in something or another, she is currently at the Evergreen State College learning about the art of mosaic, the ties between nature, our environment, and expressive arts, and assisting with research on the human impact on salmon habitat which she will soon present in an artistic manner to the communities in the Pacific Northwest. Her summer was spent traveling around Washington State with the Department of Transportation monitoring the health and progress of various restored and created wetlands. She’s also worked to bring art into the lives of people with disabilities and finds the movement towards integrating arts and healthcare both critical and fascinating. Trained in graphic design at the Art Institute of Seattle, she does occasional freelance and volunteer work for artists, musicians, writers, and non-profits. She’s been involved with various group art shows including Forgotten Works Gallery, National Animal Rights Network, and Olympia Artisan Alliance, as well as had solo shows at various venues in the Pacific Northwest.
Her dream would be to travel the world, learning about the nature, culture, ecologies and ecosystems of different Places and to translate those things into art so as to share them with others, thereby contributing towards the movement of a permanent and sustainable yet continually evolving culture for our species.
